You tube posters, and gigs
I like listening to music on you tube, it often lets me find rare recordings of tracks and quite often gives me more respect for artists. One thing rally bothers me though, people posting on videos of live gigs„ recorded on a phone form the crowd. People who are so self centred that they can’t understand why people are cheering or singing along-” it wrecks the songs”, “I can’t even here them sing.”
You cant hear them because its recorded from a camera that will pick up more of the sound close to it than from the stage. they’re cheering because they’re enjoying the gig, singing along because that was the vibe of the gig- they’re enjoying the artist that they’ve payed to see. They’re weren’t performing for you, you sitting at your computer, and please understand that yeah you might not get the full atmosphere because there are not a few hundred people with you on your laptop.
Perhaps we experience things more by recordings and by the Internet. Spend too much time facebooking our friends instead of hanging out with them. Too scared we”l drop our phone at a gig, or concentrating on a steady shot that we experience the gig on a 2” screen and a re to scared to jump around and experience the atmosphere.
